Although the race is in the Manistee National Forest and near to a small community you will still find hotels, cabins and even campgrounds scattered close enough to get to the race on time and far enough to enjoy some of the local Northern Michigan flavor.

The 2013 Hotel Partner of the North Country Run is McGuire's Resort in Cadillac. Call and ask for the North Country rate and receive a discount on your reservations. McGuire's is only 37 miles from the start/finish area and has a beautiful golf course, restaurant and is located near the city of Cadillac. It makes it a perfect opportunity for you to relax and the day after the race before going home take in a round of golf or the day before the race think of it as a pre or post training run. Camping for runners near runners 1 mile away from the start/finish area:
If you are looking for just the right atmosphere come race weekend and you like to camp in tents, trailers or have a large home on wheels we have camping 1 mile from the race start/finish area provided by race participants the Robbins. We even put a portable restroom on site for use. There are no showers, just a large field, a large campfire and a large bunch of runners that love to share race stories and make new friends. Space is first come first serve and the address of where to camp is: 2500 Udell Hills Road, Manistee MI. No reservations are required, just show up and if there is room your in.

Camping at the start/finish area:
Unfortunately there is no camping at the start/finish area of the race due to restrictions from the US Forest Service. Some have slept in their car overnight and since we have race officials there throughout the night if you have any problems just come wake one of us up. There is also tent camping in two other areas within walking distance of the start/finish area and when you arrive at packet pick-up Friday evening we can direct you to those two areas.
